Job Responsibilities
The Waste Technician supports hazardous and non-hazardous waste programs across the University of South Carolina System. Responsibilities include chemical pickups, lab clean-outs, hazardous waste inspections, and safety training. This position plays a key role in ensuring compliance with environmental health and safety regulations by coordinating waste disposal, responding to chemical spills, and supporting lab safety initiatives.
Minimum And Additional Requirements
Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 1 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.
Additional Comments
Knowledge of OSHA and environmental compliance requirements
Effective verbal and written communication
Ability to develop and deliver safety training
General understanding of occupational health and safety standards
