Job Summary

The Loan Quality Analyst performs reviews to ensure loan packages are complying with established bank policies and procedures. This role will create a QA process as well as participate in non-targeted and targeted quality reviews, presents and communicates results effectively while also providing sound recommendations based on findings. The Loan Quality Analyst recommends and develops processes that improve performance and overall quality based on results.

Responsibilities

Quality Review

  • Reviews all commercial and agriculture loans loan packages for completeness and accuracy of approval, documentation, and post-closing tasks; and in adherence to regulatory requirements and bank policy and procedure.
  • Reviews and tracks all loan exceptions within system and provides exception reporting to the leadership team.
  • Compares the loan approval to the loan documents to ensure that loan documents are accurate.
  • Ensures proper loan-specific legal documentation and conditions are obtained prior to closing
  • Effectively communicates items needed for closing.
  • Determines if exceptions have been satisfied based on received documentation and clears exceptions for closing.
  • Ensures sufficient coverages of collateral with verification of Bank correctly listed as Mortgagee, Loss Payee or Additional Insured, as appropriate.
  • Reviews monthly reports to ensure compliance of post-closing items
  • Stays abreast of regulatory, legal, policy and procedural changes to ensure a strong understanding of all aspects of loan product requirements.
  • Participates in special projects and assignments as needed.
  • Review of servicing activities, such as demands and collateral releases, for compliance with established bank policies and procedures
  • Review of all loan documents to ensure all financial terms, conditions and covenants are listed as approved.
  • Review of the loan documentation packages post-closing within the predefined service level agreement to ensure accuracy.
  • Tracks actions and responses to ensure that required information and/or documents are obtained both pre- and post-closing.
  • Resolve loan documentation issues or questions on new loans, renewals, and modifications through effective communication with lending team.

Process Improvement

  • Creates a workflow and process to complete necessary reviews to ensures loan packages are adhering to regulatory requirements and bank policy and procedure.
  • Documents procedures and workflow and communicates effectively with impacted stakeholders.
  • Has the ability to build relationships, train and communicate on results of review and recommend process and procedure changes where appropriate.
  • Investigates issues, sorting through data and information to identity relevant or important details while recognizing how to identify and prioritize critical issues and report or cascade accordingly.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills (oral and written), displays professional demeanor and ability to work independently.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent as well as 2+ years of job-related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience in bank policies/procedures.
  • Ability to evaluate information against a set of standards and verify that it is correct.
  • Ability to compile and summarize findings found during a review into a report format.
  • Negotiate cross-departmental goals
  • Can balance and adapt to changing requirements between #PeopleFirst/Customer and Bank Security
  • Negotiate cross-departmental goals
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, including advanced Excel skills

The base salary for this role is listed below. This pay range is posted to comply with wage transparency laws.
