City: Westland, MI
Contract type: Full time

StaffBright is currently seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Buyer to join our clients’ teams. This role is ideal for a results-driven professional who excels in managing the full purchasing lifecycle—from sourcing and vendor negotiations to purchase order management and inventory control. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of supply chain dynamics, cost-saving strategies, and vendor relationship management to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and materials in alignment with the client’s operational goals.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Prepare purchase orders, review requisitions, and manage bid proposals to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services.
  • Negotiate and administer supplier contracts, evaluating vendor performance to ensure quality, compliance, and long-term value.
  • Analyze pricing, financial data, and supplier metrics to drive cost savings and optimize purchasing decisions.
  • Maintain and update MRP/ERP systems with accurate information on inventory, delivery timelines, and product performance.

What We Need From You

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of commodity purchasing experience (not MRO-focused).
  • Familiarity with industry tools and processes such as PPAP, KPI tracking, APQP, safe launch protocols, and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Background in automotive is preferred, though strong candidates from broader manufacturing environments will be considered.

The Perks

  • Full benefits package starting on day one, including health, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Join a stable, well-established company with a strong retention record—most plant employees have been with the organization for over 20 years.
  • Work in a collaborative, hands-on environment where your contributions are visible and impactful.
