Job Requirements

Develop, tune, publish, and maintain enterprise-grade data models and interactive dash boards using Microsoft Power BI in close collaboration with business stakeholders. This role is responsible for transforming raw data into actionable insights that support strategic decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate will also lead efforts in vendor coordination, mentor internal users, and support third-party data ingestion, ETL processes, and electronic data exchange workflows.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Power BI Development & Reporting
  • Design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards, visualizations, and key performance indicators (KPIs) using Power BI Desktop.
  • Translate business requirements into effective, actionable, and intuitive visual analytics.
  • Leverage DAX and Power Query(M) to create calculated columns, measures, and data transformations.

Deployment& Power BI Service Management

  • Publish reports and datasets to Power BI Service, manage workspace configurations, and enforce row-level security (RLS) protocols.
  • Configure and monitor scheduled refreshes to ensure consistent data availability and performance.

Data Modeling& Architecture

  • Collaborate with data engineers to develop and maintain data models from enterprise sources, including data lakes, snowflake/star schemas, or equivalent structures.
  • Ensure robust and scalable data sets are available for self-service and organizational reporting.

Business Collaboration & Enablement

  • Partner with business units to understand analytical needs, conduct requirements gathering, and iterate on solution delivery.
  • Conduct training sessions and mentoring to enable internal users to understand dashboards, reports, and self-service BI capabilities.
  • Define, document, and refine KPIs aligned to strategic goals.

Third-Party Data & Vendor Oversight

  • Support ingestion of external partner data using ETL workflows or electronic data exchange protocols.
  • Coordinate with contractors, third-party developers, and data vendors to deliver on BI project requirements.

Job Description

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Power BI developer, business intelligence analyst, or related data role.
  • 2+ years in a leadership or project management capacity, preferably in a BI or analytics environment.
  • Proficient in Power BI Desktop and Service, including DAX, Power Query, RLS, and performance tuning.
  • Familiarity with data governance, version control, and secure data practices in a BI context.
  • Experience working with data from systems such as SQL Server, Excel, SharePoint, MAS, DM2, or JD Edwards.
  • Knowledge of emerging tools including Microsoft Fabric and AI workflow tools is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to build compelling, insightful dashboards that drive business decisions.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in transportation, logistics, or fuel/lubricant distribution industry is preferred but not required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to engage technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Effective problem-solving skills with a keen eye for identifying anomalies, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Microsoft Certifications a plus

Working Conditions

  • Extended schedule may be required as dictated by management and business needs.
  • May be required to sit andreview information on a computer screen for long periods of time.
  • May require repetitive motionsof the hands and wrist related to writing and typing at an electronickeyboard.
