Job Overview

Chris George Custom Homes, a third-generation, family-owned custom home builder in the Kansas City Metro area, is looking for an experienced and reliable Site Superintendent to oversee daily field operations. This key role ensures each project is executed to our high standards by coordinating subcontractors, maintaining schedules, enforcing site cleanliness, and delivering exceptional quality. You'll work closely with the Project Manager to bring dream homes to life — on time, on budget, and built right the first time.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Execution & Scheduling
• Lead the on-site execution of residential projects from rough-in through final punch and closeout.
• Update project schedules weekly using Buildertrend; ensure milestone targets are met.
• Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to keep projects on track.
• Subcontractor Coordination
• Manage and coordinate daily subcontractor activity and site logistics.
• Clearly communicate scopes of work and enforce performance and accountability.
• Track punch list items and schedule follow-ups through Buildertrend.
• Quality Assurance & Site Management
• Ensure all work aligns with construction documents, change orders, and company quality standards.
• Proactively resolve field issues and assist with punch work when needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant job site at all times (including erosion control and local regulations).
• Customer & Team Interaction
• Interact professionally with homeowners during site visits or walk-throughs.
• Redirect change requests to the Project Manager; ensure a smooth handoff.
• Represent Chris George Custom Homes with integrity and professionalism on-site.
• Company Assets
• Maintain assigned company vehicle, tools, and phone in excellent condition.
  

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in residential construction, preferably in custom home building.
• Proven ability to manage field operations, subcontractor performance, and quality assurance.
• Proficient in Buildertrend or similar project management software.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and lead in a fast-paced environment.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
