Senior / Lead Mechanical Engineer
Proper Voltage
Date: 10 hours ago
City: Carlsbad, CA
Contract type: Full time

Visa Sponsorship: Please note that we are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position.
Proper Voltage is the universal integration layer between advanced batteries and real products. We remove the complexity of voltage mismatch, chemistry limitations, and integration delays that have historically locked product teams into suboptimal power solutions.
Our Battery Operating System (bOS) makes advanced chemistries like sodium-ion, LTO, and lithium-sulfur plug-and-play with existing products, no redesign required. This means better safety, performance, and efficiency with zero product compromises.
Instead of a BMS or chemistry startup, we're the system that bridges the gap between breakthrough power technologies and the products that need them most.
Power should be a design advantage, not a limitation. Join us in making advanced batteries universally accessible.
Job Overview:
We are hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer to help design, validate, and deliver our next generation of battery systems from concept through commercial deployment.
This role involves strong ownership, autonomy, and technical depth on projects across their full lifecycle, including CAD development, validation testing, supplier coordination, and on-site builds.
You will collaborate closely with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to ensure mechanical systems meet performance, manufacturability, and reliability standards.
This is an in-office role based at our Carlsbad, CA headquarters.
Responsibilities
Proper Voltage is an equal opportunity employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws or our own sensibilities.
