Description

Position Summary:

The Quality Assurance Specialist supports The Moore Center's compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and best practices by conducting internal audits across departments, identifying opportunities for operational improvement, and developing benchmarks and tracking systems to measure performance. This role plays a key part in fostering a culture of continuous quality improvement and will be required to complete Lean Six Sigma training. Additionally, serves as the Client Rights Coordinator, responsible for tracking client rights concerns, analyzing trends, and reporting findings. As a member of the interdisciplinary team, this position collaborates with departments and programs agency-wide to enhance service quality and organizational effectiveness.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Perform regular internal audits across all departments within The Moore Center to ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct internal investigations in response to identified or reported risks, ensuring timely and thorough resolution.
  • Collect, coordinate, and analyze internal compliance and audit data to identify trends, areas of risk, and opportunities for improvement; develop and implement corrective action plans accordingly.
  • Prepare compliance audit reports by compiling and analyzing both internal and external data sources.
  • Stay current on all relevant local, state, and federal regulations; proactively communicate changes to the Department Director and other key stakeholders.
  • Serve as the Client Rights Coordinator, collaborating with the Bureau of Disability Services (BDS) to support and enforce client rights protections.
  • Conduct training on Client Rights for agency staff, clients, and families, ensuring consistent understanding and application across the organization.
  • Respond to inquiries and concerns from staff and departments related to Client Rights issues and provide appropriate guidance and support.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain internal audit and compliance policies and procedures that align with applicable laws and industry best practices.
  • Participate in teamwork-oriented projects; regular in-office presence is required, with occasional travel to off-site locations as necessary.
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality, with access to sensitive information including agency budgets, strategic plans, and confidential client or staff data.
  • Represent the Compliance Department on internal agency committees and initiatives, providing insight and guidance from a compliance perspective.
  • Represent The Moore Center as an Area Agency on statewide committees and working groups, contributing to broader system-wide compliance efforts.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support the overall mission and operations of the agency.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the compliance field, preferably within a healthcare setting
  • Familiarity with the Developmental Disability Service System
  • Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations
  • Experience with project management, data analysis, and report writing
  • Exceptional working knowledge and experience in using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated experience and confidence in public speaking to groups of various sizes
  • Exceptional organizational skills, time management, and written communication abilities
