Key Accountabilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Document medication histories and communicate findings with clinical staff.
- Assist clinical pharmacist practitioner in clinical consults and value-based care metrics
- Assist with intake of patients by reviewing medical history and obtaining vital signs
- Field prior authorizations and low-income subsidy requests
- Assist in Medication Delivery to Asheville clinics on occasion
- Schedule patients for appointments with clinical pharmacist
- Assist Retail pharmacy in daily operations when needed
- Administer vaccines and/or therapeutic injections as needed.
- Manage inventory of medical supplies kept in office for clinical pharmacy team.
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
General knowledge of pharmacy.
Skills

- Proficient with pharmaceutical technology and equipment, including computers, copiers, scanners, fax machines, and phone systems, as well as MS Excel/Word/Outlook, Electronic Health Record systems and automated medical scheduling.

Requirements
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Required
- Education: completion of a Pharmacy Technician Program (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience).
- Licensure: registration with the NC Board of Pharmacy. CPhT from PTCB or ExCPT from NHA.
- Preferred experience: 1-year clinical pharmacy technician
- Experience in Microsoft Excel is recommended
- Full range of motion, including manual and finger dexterity and eye–hand coordination
- Standing and walking frequently and occasionally lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, biohazards, toxic substances, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinical setting
- Some travel within western North Carolina
- Fast paced work environment.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
