We’re looking for a Director of Operations Process Improvement to lead enterprise-wide initiatives that streamline our claims operations and elevate performance across the board.

In this strategic role, you’ll lead enterprise-wide initiatives to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and regulatory compliance of claims operations. This role oversees strategic planning, execution, and measurement of key process improvement projects that directly impact provider payments, member satisfaction, process automation and the financial integrity of the organization. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional partners in IT, Compliance, Legal, Clinical, and Finance to align systems, workflows, and teams around best practices and sustainable operational excellence.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and execute a long-term strategy for operational process improvement, aligned with organizational goals, compliance standards, and evolving business needs.
  • Define and lead a multi-year roadmap of process modernization efforts including automation, standardization, and digital transformation within claims operations.
  • Oversee the analysis and redesign of end-to-end claims workflows, from intake to adjudication and resolution, to reduce errors, rework, and cycle time
  • Establish enterprise-level standards and controls to ensure timely and compliant claims processing across multiple products and lines of business.
  • Leverage data analytics to identify performance gaps, root causes, and improvement opportunities; track KPI progress across all claims channels.
  • Present dashboards and executive summaries t senior leadership, highlighting impact, trends, and future opportunities.
  • Partner with teams across IT, Compliance, Legal, Clinical, and Finance to co-develop and implement scalable, compliant solutions.
  • Serve as a strategic liaison for audits, regulatory inquiries, and cross-departmental improvement initiatives impacting claims.
  • Drive adoption of changes through structured training, stakeholder engagement, and proactive communication strategies.
  • Establish and monitor enterprise-wide claims performance indicators, benchmarking against industry standards.
  • Ensure continuous feedback loops and adjust initiatives based on results and business conditions.
  • Lead a team focused on process improvement initiatives, overseeing day-to-day execution, coaching, and performance development as roles and responsibilities evolve.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 10+ years in healthcare operations or process improvement, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of the end-to-end dental claims lifecycle, including adjudication, payment integrity, and regulatory compliance (e.g., CMS, HIPAA, State Medicaid guidelines)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams, with a focus on coaching, performance management, and cross-functional collaboration
  • Advanced analytical and critical thinking skills to identify enterprise-level process gaps, evaluate performance trends, and develop data-driven strategies to optimize claims operations.
  • Deep knowledge of process improvement frameworks such as Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies; proven experience leading large-scale initiatives that improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Strong understanding of the dental insurance industry, including claims adjudication processes, regulatory requirements, and payer-provider dynamics.
  • Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional process improvement programs from planning through execution and sustainment, with a focus on achieving measurable results and ROI.
  • Ability to thoroughly document business processes and develop business requirements through cross-functional collaboration to optimize and automate processes.
  • Experience with Conduent/HSP Administrative platforms preferred.

Compensation

In the spirit of pay transparency, the base salary range for this position is $150,000 - $180,000, not including fringe benefits or potential bonuses. At Liberty, your final base salary will be determined by factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and experience. We are committed to pay equity and also consider the internal equity of our current team members when making final compensation decisions.

Please note that the range listed represents the full base salary range for this role. Typically, offers are not made at the top of the range to allow for future salary growth.
