Overview
We are looking for an experienced Director, Finance and Accounting to join Mycronic's Global Technologies division working within our Applied Plasma business line (Surfx Technologies). It is an exciting time to join our team!
Surfx Technologies is a fast-growing company that offers atmospheric argon plasmas for the high-volume manufacturing of integrated circuits, semiconductor packages, printed circuit boards, and other microelectronic devices. These automated plasma machines are an excellent choice for surface cleaning, activation, and metal oxide removal. The Surfx team delivers this atmospheric argon plasma technology for assembled products that are less likely to corrode, delaminate, or come unglued during their lifetime. Our customers include the world's leading semiconductor manufacturers and technology companies.
The Director, Finance and Accounting develops and manages all aspects of financial accounting operations including performing financial analysis for two legal entities (US & Taiwan). This position addresses tight reporting deadlines with our parent company as well as a multitude of accounting activities including yet not limited to general ledger preparation, financial reporting, driving the year-end audit preparation and support of budget, forecast, and strategic planning activities. The ability to make independent judgments and be able to critically self-review ones work are essential for success in this position.
As a part of the business line's management team, this role provides strategic financial recommendations and analysis to the head of the business line. The financial recommendations and analysis will support critical business decisions.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversees all financial operations including accounting, control, financial planning and analysis
- Leads the monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting processes ensuring the results are complete and accurate and delivered timely to key stakeholders in line with the Group Financial Policy and Financial Business Blueprint
- Advises senior management on financial analyses and decision-making on investments, contract negotiations, significant costs, benchmarks, and other matters
- Partners with the GT's Head of Finance and key stakeholders across the company to provide insights on operational and financial performance, and business trends
- Provides perspectives and executive financial recommendations for strategic decisions, including P&L, NWC, BS, Capex and CF analysis and other ad-hoc projects
- Leads and develops the GT-AP finance team, collaborates with functional departments in GT-AP as well as with GT's Head of Finance and M&A and Mycronic Group finance team
- Reviews bi-weekly payroll and off-cycle payments
- Ensures accounting policies comply with IFRS, generally accepted accounting principles, tax requirements, and management reporting requirements
- Establishes and executes formal internal control policies and procedures. Exercises accounting control to ensure that budgeted expenditures do not exceed amounts authorized without proper approval
- Assumes responsibility for accounting classifications of all expenditures and documents
- Manages cash management functions including cash concentration and wires
- Ensures adequate liquidity for capital needs and transfer excess cash to parent company
- Manages budget process and prepares other short and long-term financial forecasts of financial performance
- Coordinates internal and external audits and manages action items
- Oversees audits and quarterly & annual tax functions, coordinates activities with outside audit firms and reviews performance
- Manages an efficient transfer pricing model together with corporate finance.
- Leads efforts to upgrade the ERP system to enable business growth and to handle both US and Taiwan sites
- Working together with the Business Line management team to accomplish the intended profitable growth journey
- Proven track record of managing and developing finance and accounting for multiple sites in a manufacturing operations in a global company. Manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated deep understanding of accounting and financial statement reporting required
- Familiar with IFRS accounting standard
- Understands financial reporting and consolidation, and has strong analytical skills
- Working knowledge and ability to work with various financial reporting systems and tools
- Working knowledge of general ledger and financial statement preparation, budget and forecast preparation, ability to deal with confidential matters, attention to detail, strong computer skills, and the ability to perform multiple tasks in a changing environment
- Interpret common technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
- Ability to define problems, collect data, show facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to work collaboratively with others to achieve common objects, goals and results
- Inspirational people manager with ability to effectively lead and develop a team
- Demonstrated team player forming strong working relationships with colleagues across departments.
- Self-motivated with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelors in finance, economics, accounting, business, or a related major
- Master of Business Administration or a Master of Science is considered a plus.
- Either a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is desirable
- Experience in a large accounting firm is preferred
