This position is located at Mountain View Correctional Institution in Spruce Pine, Avery County, NC.
Position will be responsible for all training of certified and non-certified staff to ensure compliance with policy. This position ensures that specialized training is coordinated and policy requirements are met. This position also conducts new employee orientation to ensure newly hired staff are oriented to policies and procedures, serves as an instructor for general and specialized training and will maintain instructor certifications as defined by policies and the Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission. This position schedules instructors for classes to ensure training requirements are met. This position will be prepared to instruct classes in the absence of scheduled instructors. This position ensures OSDT records are keyed into the OPUS system, and will maintain training records as required policies. Position is familiar with external training requirements as outlined in department policy.
This a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits.
The salary grade for this position is NC09. State employees are encouraged to apply for positions of interest even if the salary grade is the same as, or lower than, their current position. If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity. Based upon these factors, a pay increase MAY result.
Salary Grade: NC09 Salary Range: $39,671.00 - $69,426.00
