Job Title: EHS Specialist

Department: Environmental Health and Safety

Reports to: EHS Manager

Location: Mesquite, Texas

Job Summary: This position is for a dedicated professional with a passion for protecting the environment and ensuring the health and safety of our team members.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate daily, weekly, and monthly metrics to report to onsite management teams and corporate based reporting systems.
  • Support management efforts to ensure compliance with all corporate program expectations and applicable federal and state laws.
  • Conduct risk assessments related to jobs performed (Job Hazard Analysis) and new equipment introductions.
  • Responsible for recommending appropriate risk mitigation measures to management, including ergonomics.
  • Available to work flexible shifts including days, nights and/or weekends.


Qualifications/Experience:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years in an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) related field
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations specifically 29 CFR 1910.
  • Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel in a professional capacity.
  • Experience maintaining confidentiality in matter involving security and/or personnel issues in
  • the workplace.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills, good problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety management system practices


and developing, ISO 14001:2015 Environmental management System and ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management.

  • Strong sense of responsibility, highly motivated, forward thinking, and proactive.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • University degree or higher, preferably in a safety related field.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, analysis, judgment, and customer focus skills.
  • Ability to analyze accident data, new processes, and machinery for potential safety concerns and conduct job hazard and job safety analyses.
  • Experience in emergency response and currently holds First Aid and CPR certificates.

Job Title: Occupational Health Specialist

Position Summary

The Occupational Health Specialist plays a critical role in protecting the health and well-being of Canadian Solar employees by managing and improving occupational health programs. This individual will develop, implement, and monitor health programs and procedures designed to identify, prevent, and control health hazards in the workplace, supporting compliance with regulatory standards and promoting a culture of health and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Health Surveillance & Risk Assessment
    • Conduct health risk assessments for workplace hazards (chemical, physical, biological, ergonomic).
    • Develop and implement medical surveillance programs aligned with occupational exposure risks.
    • Monitor employee health trends and recommend interventions as needed.
  • Program Development & Compliance
    • Develop and maintain occupational health policies and procedures in compliance with local, and federal regulations (e.g., OSHA, CDC & other applicable health standards etc.).
    • Collaborate with EHS and HR teams to integrate occupational health into broader safety initiatives.
    • Serve as the primary contact for occupational health-related inspections, audits, and inquiries.
    • Administer the facility’s return-to-work and modified duty programs.
    • Perform root cause analysis of occupational illnesses and participate in incident investigations.
    • Track and report occupational health metrics and trends to support continuous improvement.
    • Participate in emergency preparedness and first-aid response planning and training.
  • Incident Response & Case Management
    • Support response to workplace incidents, including medical triage and injury follow-up.
    • Coordinate with medical providers on return-to-work plans, restrictions, and accommodations.
    • Track and manage occupational injury/illness records, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Training & Health Promotion
    • Deliver employee training on topics such as ergonomics, hearing conservation, PPE usage, and wellness.
    • Support wellness programs and campaigns aimed at improving employee health and reducing absenteeism.
    • Educate employees and leadership on occupational health risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Data Management & Reporting
    • Maintain confidential health records in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
    • Analyze health data and prepare reports on trends, leading indicators, and preventive actions.
    • Contribute to sustainability and ESG reports, particularly on health-related metrics.

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health, Nursing, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, or a related field (master’s degree or Occupational Health Nurse certification preferred).
  • 3–7 years of experience in occupational health within a manufacturing, energy, or industrial setting.
