Chatham County Internal Audit is looking for a skilled Administrative Assistant II. Do you have advanced skills in Microsoft Word and Excel? Â We'd love to have you join our team!

Under general supervision,Â

  • Creates documents, manuals, spreadsheets, and presentations using Microsoft Office.
  • Documents status of corrective actions and performs backup procedures regularly.
  • Performs various administrative tasks, including maintaining inventory and making travel arrangements.
  • Manages calendars and prepares correspondence for the department.
  • Reviews staff timesheets and coordinates scheduling for training events
  • Participates in answering calls and assists the public with questions.
  • Prepares and submits Requests for Payment for vendor invoices.
  • Serves as a unit leader in the Evacuation Assembly Area and Return Reception Center during hurricanes directly affecting our area.
  • Uses initiative, independent judgment, and discretion when performing assigned tasks.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
  • High School Diploma or GED, and
  • At least two (2) years of clerical, administrative assistant, or related experience, orÂ
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Selected candidates may be required to complete testing during the interview process. Â

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two or more years of college or technical school.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office certifications.
