Job Duties: This position provides support and records management to Court Service Officers, specifically in the Juvenile and Child in Need of Care department. This position processes intakes, assigns cases, enters and updates case information daily, maintains case social files, processes journal entries and court minutes, e-files & images documents, copies, sorts and files documents, answers the phone, replies to requests for information, assists with Truancy dockets, provides client and office support through telephone calls, emails and walk-in inquiries, and assists other records and clerical staff members as needed.
Hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday in the Shawnee County Courthouse. As with all Court Services positions, job duties may change to meet the needs of the agency and court.
Required education and experience: Graduation from high school or GED. Six months’
experience in clerical office work/computer data entry.
Preferred qualifications: Dependable and detail-oriented team player, able to accurately read and summarize written material, work with the public and type 40-50 wpm. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel 2010 would be helpful. As this position may need to assist with the daily run on occasion, candidates should be able to physically deliver documents throughout the courthouse and lift boxes of paper weighing up to 25 lbs.
