The Nursing Assistant provides patient care support under supervision, including safe transport, observation, and documentation of services.
- Responsibilities include monitoring patient status, responding to emergent situations, and ensuring safety protocols such as proper identification, hand hygiene, and fall prevention.
- Maintains current BLS certification, participates in professional development, and fosters a culture of safety and collaboration.
- Performs clerical duties to facilitate unit operations and uses technology effectively, including during downtime.
- Ensures compliance with legal, ethical, privacy, and safety standards, with an emphasis on patient-centered, culturally sensitive care.
- Engages with patients and families respectfully, recognizing their role in the care process, and adapts to individual needs based on age and culture.
- Requires a high school diploma or GED, with prior healthcare experience preferred, along with CPR/BLS certification, basic medical knowledge, and effective communication skills.
