As a Solution Architect at Menards you will be responsible for the review and proposal of architectural designs for all information systems solutions. You will analyze and evaluate existing or proposed systems as well as new technologies and make recommendations that will increase reliability and performance as well as ensure scalability. You will also focus on integration patterns and best practices.
Primary Responsibilities
- Work cooperatively with technical personnel in other IT/IS areas to accomplish enterprise-wide goals
- Design fault-tolerant, scalable and decoupled solutions
- Lead technology decision making with a strong emphasis on the reasoning behind those decisions
- Research new technologies and their potential impact on our current processes
- Identify areas of improvement across existing systems and help design related solutions
- Define standards and best practices for cross-cutting software development concerns
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors or Associates degree in a Computer Science, Computer Programming or MIS related field or equivalent work experience
- 8+ years of working experience in multiple IT/IS areas or 5+ years of relevant architecture experience
- Working knowledge of concepts related to
- IT infrastructure
- Software engineering
- Business analysis
- DevOps
- Project and/or product management
- Security best practices
- Possess personal attributes including
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, negotiate, and foster a team-oriented and collaborative environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Deep analytical skills
- Willingness to accept direction and confidence to provide direction
- Ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly
- Must work within designated normal office hours at the Corporate Office in Eau Claire, WI (remote work is not offered)
- Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States, presently and in the future, without sponsorship
