We are looking for a Factory Engineering Director to join our team in one of today’s most exciting technologies. This role will report to the Head of Manufacturing and will be based in Fremont, CA. This is a fully on-site, in office role 5 days a week.

The Factory Engineering Director will be responsible for managing engineering resources and guiding the Fremont, CA facility through the exciting journey of significant growth in domestic manufacturing.

Responsibilities


  • Formulate and communicate a vision and strategy aligned with our business needs.
  • Define a set of metrics that accurately measure how the engineering efforts contribute to the company’s success.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the engineering team, with a strong focus on engineering practices and standards.
  • Shape the engineering organization in a way that enables engineering technicians to guarantee 24/7 sustaining of the line while engineers focus on improvement and manufacturing innovation.
  • Develop and implement performance management plans for the engineering team, providing feedback and coaching to help team members grow.
  • Oversee the resource allocation, execution and delivery of engineering projects, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Prepare the engineering team to support the upcoming generation of highly automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Work with the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering team to support the design, debug and qualification of new equipment.


Qualifications


  • Master’s degree in a relevant engineering field or equivalent
  • 12+ years of experience in a highly automated 24/7 manufacturing environment like semiconductor, solar or equivalent. A strong process Engineering background if preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a managerial role overseeing process and equipment engineering teams.
  • Capable of extracting the maximum value out of standard engineering practices related to problem solving, process control, maintenance, testing and data analysis
  • Familiarity with basic financial principles related to product costing, project and inventory management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
