Essential Functions
- Perform comprehensive health assessments and screenings for special education evaluations
- Provide necessary training to school staff on seizures, complete asthma action plans, seizure action plans, evacuation plans, and provide information for evaluations
- Formulate, execute, and oversee Individual Health Plans (IHPs) and 504 Plans
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, community organizations, educational institutions, and families to facilitate the academic access of students with health conditions
- Collaborate harmoniously with the faculty and staff of the institution in delivering healthcare services to all students
- Maintain precise documentation
- Ensure confidentiality by adhering to the Federal regulations of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
- Current Minnesota School Nurse License with PELSB (Tier 3 or Tier 4)
- Bachelor Degree in Nursing
- Current Minnesota License as a Registered Nurse
- Public Health Nurse Certified
