Contract type: Full time

If you've mastered the art of turning regulatory mazes into launch highways across multiple jurisdictions, we need your expertise now. Not tomorrow. Not next quarter. Now.

2 Hour Learning is launching 25–30 new campuses in the next six months. These aren't aspirational targets—they're funded commitments with proven models awaiting execution. We need a regulatory pathfinder who doesn't just interpret requirements but drives timelines through them with precision and authority.

You'll command all state-level authorizations and local permitting—from zoning and fire safety to building code and operational registration. This isn't about tracking status reports; it's about owning the timeline, building the relationships, and eliminating the bottlenecks that stand between us and operational excellence.

About 2 Hour Learning

2 Hour Learning powers Alpha Schools, NextGen Academy, GT School, Texas Sports Academy, and Unbound Academy—a growing family of K–12 schools built on a proven premise: students achieve a full year of academic growth in just two focused hours daily. The remaining hours belong to them—for sailing, sports, public speaking, or game design.

Our platform integrates real-time progress dashboards, curriculum recommendations, and feedback tools—providing students and guides with structured pathways to accelerate learning and space to develop independently.

We're private equity-backed with sustainable funding and a mandate to scale. This isn't experimental—it's validated. Charter applications are in motion. Campuses are expanding. Now we're building the infrastructure to implement this model wherever it can succeed.

WHY THIS ROLE?

This position offers seasoned operators genuine authority, ownership, and measurable impact—without the founder's burden.

You'll Secure

  • Decision authority, not mere influence
  • A proven model with resources to scale
  • Direct educational system impact without nonprofit constraints
  • Startup momentum backed by financial stability and growing national presence

You'll work directly with founding leadership committed to speed, data, and tangible outcomes—not rhetoric or bureaucratic delays. This team has launched companies, scaled platforms, and validated the model. They seek a builder who can eliminate regulatory obstacles and deliver operational schools.

ARE YOU THE RIGHT FIT?

If you've analyzed launch sequences and thought, "With proper authority, I could execute this faster and more efficiently"—this role allows you to demonstrate that capability.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Orchestrating regulatory timelines across 25–30 simultaneous campus launches with precision and accountability
  • Spearheading state-level authorization, licensing, and compliance filings with strategic foresight
  • Executing local permitting processes (zoning, fire, building, operational) with maximum efficiency
  • Aligning execution across legal, real estate, and operations teams to eliminate bottlenecks
  • Engineering a scalable, repeatable regulatory playbook that systematically reduces time-to-launch
  • Establishing authoritative relationships with government officials across multiple jurisdictions

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Following established protocols—you'll architect the definitive regulatory playbook
  • Passively monitoring progress—your mandate is securing approvals, not reporting status
  • Compromising between speed and compliance—both are essential requirements
  • Managing sequential launches—you'll orchestrate concurrent openings across multiple states
  • Operating in departmental isolation—you'll coordinate across legal, facilities, and operations
  • Creating bureaucratic complexity—your mission is to simplify, accelerate, and remove obstacles
  • Distributing regulatory accountability—you own the timeline and its outcomes

You Must Demonstrate

  • 10+ years leading permitting or approval processes across diverse U.S. jurisdictions
  • Substantive experience with school licensing, capital projects, or multi-agency regulatory frameworks
  • Documented success delivering results under ambiguity—rapidly, thoroughly, and independently
  • Exceptional communication skills across legal teams, vendors, and government agencies
