SKC Youth Development Coordinator

Primary Function: The Assistant Teacher is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day care of our members and maintain a safe and healthy environment.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Pre-Employment Training.
• Work as a team with other staff members to ensure all members are well cared for and supervised at all times.
• Maintain accurate documentation on site for DHS.
• Promote and stimulate interest and participation of all members in activities.
• Greet parents and/or care providers at drop-off and pick up each day. Remember that you are representing our program and act accordingly. Answer any questions they have or direct them to a supervisor.
• Assist the planning and implementation of a daily programing that will meet the needs of the members in attendance; set up the program, project, and activity areas as needed.
• Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for members.
• Attend and participate in all staff meetings and on-going trainings.
  
  

Skills/Knowledge Required

• 18 years old
• Prior experience with youth, preferred
• Ability to obtain at least 15 hours of training through the Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Education (DCCECE) Professional Development Registry or Department of Education.
• Ability to plan, organize and implement recreational activities.
• Group leadership skills including an understanding of group dynamics.
• Demonstrate organizational, staff, and project management abilities.
  
  

Physical Requirements

High energy level. Ability to get along with diverse personalities, tactful, mature and flexible. Good reasoning abilities and sound judgement. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
