LifeSouth is looking for a dynamic leader to champion growth, people, and performance as District Director to our South Alabama District, centralized in Montgomery, AL.
LifeSouth is a non-profit community blood bank serving more than 150 hospitals in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee. We are committed to meeting the blood supply needs of hospitals and their patients by providing the highest quality blood components and services. With more than 45 donor centers, 55 bloodmobiles and 2,000 blood drives a month, our LifeSouth team is dedicated to making sure the blood is there when you or your family is in need.

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as primary liaison between the district and headquarters, ensuring that policies and programs are effectively implemented and aligned with the organization's mission and objectives.
- Oversee operations in all regions within the district; set goals and directly oversee district personnel and regional management to ensure goals and expectations are met.
- Oversee the analysis of donation data to develop plans, initiatives, and tracking mechanisms aimed towards increasing donations.
- Proactively develop strategic plans for the district including improvement, growth, and new process plans.
- Assist with regulatory oversight of regions in the district in conjunction with the Quality Assurance (QA) department.
- Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures within district operations.
- Maintain oversight on all assigned physical resources associated with buildings, equipment and vehicle and bloodmobile fleet.
- Build and maintain strong community partnerships to support the company’s mission through active outreach and engagement.
- Ensure hospital satisfaction associated with products and services.
- Be always on-call, except when on approved leave (PTO).
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of proven managerial leadership experience required; blood banking experience or FDA regulatory experience is preferred. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be substituted.
- Strong leadership and relationship-building skills with staff, partners, and the community.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; able to present clear, data-informed reports and recommendations.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Sound judgment and decision-making aligned with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and privacy regulations.
- Skilled in coaching and developing staff, fostering accountability and growth.
- Ability to work independently and perform effectively in high-pressure, time-sensitive environments.
- Proficient in analyzing costs and ROI to support strategic planning.
- Initiative-driven, with the ability to improve processes and implement new policies or programs.
- Understanding of donor recruitment, mobile blood drive logistics, and healthcare-related operations, preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required; must have consistent and reliable transportation.
