Position Summary

The Scheduler plays a critical role in coordinating and optimizing the use of crews, equipment, and resources across multiple active job sites. This position ensures that project management and field operations run efficiently and projects stay on track by creating and managing clear, real-time schedules. The Scheduler serves as the operational bridge between project managers, superintendents, foremen, and subcontractors to support the successful delivery of civil construction and utility projects. The scheduler will report directly to the Director of Field Operations.

OBJECTIVES

  • Optimize crew and equipment utilization across all projects
  • Maintain real-time schedules for projects and resource allocations
  • Coordinate scheduling with project managers, foremen, superintendents, vendors, and subcontractors
  • Identify and mitigate delays due to weather, inspection timing, or material lead times
  • Track and report on key project milestones and deadlines
  • Forecast labor and equipment needs to support field operations
  • Adapt schedules in response to field conditions or scope changes
  • Integrate scheduling data with Smartsheet and other project tools
  • Ensure alignment with contract milestones and delivery dates
  • Support permitting and inspection coordination
  • Prioritize high-value or time-sensitive scopes of work
  • Coordinate scheduling needs of subcontractors and vendors
  • Analyze schedule performance and identify areas for improvement
  • Increase transparency and visibility of scheduling for all stakeholders
  • Build scalable scheduling systems to support company growth

COMPETENCIES

  • Strong understanding of construction scheduling, particularly in civil and utility scopes
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities
  • Ability to think critically and solve scheduling conflicts proactively
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar scheduling tools
  • Understanding of field logistics including equipment, crews, materials
  • Ability to forecast and analyze trends in labor and resource usage
  • Adaptability to changing site conditions and project priorities

Education & Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in scheduling within construction or utility sectors
  • Experience working with sitework, dirtwork, or underground utilities strongly preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in construction management or related field preferred
  • Proven proficiency in Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, or equivalent tools

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to visit job sites as needed, including walking on uneven ground or in active construction zones
  • Must be able to sit or stand at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods
  • Must have reliable transportation for occasional job site visits

Compensation

Competitive base salary from $70,000 to $90,000
