Job Title: Head of Marketing Strategy
Company: More Than Cars
More Than Cars is a media brand, creative agency, and movement reshaping the perception of the retail auto industry. And we’re looking for a sharp, data-minded, creative-leaning Head of Marketing Strategy to lead our next phase of audience growth and revenue alignment.
This role isn’t just about performance metrics. It’s about making the right things grow for the right reasons and proving it. If you love a clean dashboard, crave clarity in your comms, and can turn a heap of insights into a decisive, killer campaign…read on.
Who We Are
We’re a deeply engaged, fast-moving, remote-first crew of storytellers, strategists, technologists, and auto-industry outsiders (and insiders). We love this industry, and we’re building a brand that celebrates the people in it while challenging everything that holds it back.
We make a lot of content. And we move fast. Now, we need someone who can make all our effort work smarter, scale wider, and convert better.
The Gig Is:
Own and lead all internal and external marketing strategies across media and agency verticals.
Build, segment, and optimize our email database and owned audience flows (newsletters, journeys, event lists).
Develop and manage cross-channel campaign strategy (organic, paid, email, social, events).
Provide insight-led recommendations that connect audience behavior with sales opportunities.
Act as the internal data translator between content, sales, and operations.
Collaborate with execs and department heads to shape go-to-market plans for products, services, and media packages.
Stay ahead of the curve on SEO, AI-assisted marketing tools, content performance, and campaign efficiency.
Write and edit high-quality internal and external comms.
Guide ad strategy and asset alignment (you don’t need to run the ads, but you do need to make them convert).
Build and maintain performance dashboards and reporting systems that people actually want to read.
You Are:
A killer communicator with strong writing/editing skills (yes, grammar counts).
Fluent in audience segmentation, email strategy, and marketing automation tools.
Proficient in SEO, paid ad strategy, and data-driven content planning.
A confident analytics translator — you turn dashboards into action plans.
Familiar with modern AI tools and how to leverage them in content and campaign workflows.
Someone who thrives in cross-departmental collaboration and fast-paced environments.
At home in platforms like HubSpot, Google Analytics, Meta Ads Manager, and similar.
Able to lead with empathy and precision; you listen, synthesize, and drive action.
Salary:
Starting at $80,000-$90,000 per year, based on experience and proven ability to scale growth.
Sweet Benefits:
Employer-contributed health, dental, and vision insurance
Life Insurance
401(k) with employer match
Unlimited paid time off
Bleeding edge hardware and software access
Positive work environment at our headquarters in Syracuse, NY
Opportunity to travel to industry events from time to time
Working hours:
You must be able to commit to a full-time work schedule, which is 40 hours per week within the range of 8am-7pm ET business hours, Monday-Friday.
Sound like your kind of challenge?
