Looking for a no-nonsense line cook to hold it down on the hotline. Somebody who is responsible, reliable, flexible, and a team player. Must be 18+. Must have valid forms of identification to complete I-9 verification. You don't need to be a culinary genius, but you do need to have some experience in a kitchen working fry, grill, or sauté and have a basic understanding that this is a kitchen- things are hot, it can be stressful, and communication is key. That moving fast doesn't matter if you're not moving with accuracy, and that we only succeed if we work together. Cork Wine and Tapas is in the heart of Historic Downtown New Bedford, Massachusetts. Specializing in creative cuisine, we offer a dynamic menu which features both tapas & full entrees along with an extensive yet approachable wine list. Our building, food, drink, and staff help create the perfect ambiance for any guest. We are the premier location for date nights, meeting friends for apps and drinks, corporate events, and private parties, and a place to listen to countless local musicians every week.


The building itself is nearly 200 years old and dates to 1836. Joseph Tabor and his brother built the building while the whaling industry flourished in New Bedford. Their business catered to the local mariners by creating a multi-level warehouse where they produced block and tackle, pumps, and other nautical instruments to aid the local hard-working fishermen. Our dining rooms and bars are encompassed by large, beautiful stone walls and exposed heavy oak beams. Visiting us creates a feeling of nostalgia for everyone!

Cork Wine & Tapas is looking for a creative and experienced line cook to join our maturing team. Experience a fast-paced changing restaurant, where creativity and teamwork are required. We are focused on being innovative, building relationships, and making people happy. As a vital member of our team, the line cooks are responsible for ensuring the highest quality of culinary service. They support a creative Tapas concept and private event food production. We take pride in our Cork Family and view all employees as partners.


Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
  • Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
  • Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef’s instructions
  • Clean up station and take care of leftover food
  • Stock inventory appropriately
  • Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards


Please have the following skills:

  • Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line cook, restaurant cook or prep cook
  • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
  • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
  • Familiar with industry’s best practices
  • Culinary school diploma not required, but is a bonus
