Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Oncology Nurse to join our clinic team on a part-time basis. The Oncology Nurse will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals receiving cancer treatment, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and symptom management. This role involves close collaboration with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to support patients through their treatment journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and supportive care medications according to established protocols
- Monitor patients during and after treatments for adverse reactions or complications
- Provide patient education on treatment plans, medications, and symptom management
- Coordinate with oncologists and other team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Document all care provided in the electronic medical record system accurately and promptly
- Support patients and families with emotional needs and connect them to resources as appropriate
- Maintain safety standards, including proper handling of hazardous drugs and use of PPE
- Current RN license in Texas
- Minimum 1–2 years of nursing experience in oncology or a related field (clinic experience preferred)
- BLS certification required
- Strong communication and patient education skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinic environment
- Familiarity with EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Bilingual in English/Spanish (preferred)
