About ALSO.

We’re ALSO, an electric mobility company originally conceived as a part of Rivian. We’re a passionate team of builders, dreamers, doers and innovators, focused on creating entirely new (not to mention, innovative and delightful) vertically integrated, small EVs designed to meet the global mobility challenges of today and tomorrow. Our mission is to inspire everyone to ride ALSO—replacing many local car, truck and SUV miles with ones on vehicles that are more affordable, more enjoyable and 10-50x more efficient.

ALSO is looking for a Global Logistics Leader to architect, launch, and scale our international logistics operations. This role will be instrumental in building our logistics function from the ground up—establishing a high-performing global team, designing systems and processes, and managing the full scope of shipments from Asia into North American and European markets.

What You Will Do

  • Build and lead a distributed team of logistics managers aligned with key trade lanes (focused on Asia to North America/Europe).
  • Develop and implement the global logistics strategy for shipments originating in Asia to meet delivery timelines, service level expectations, and cost targets in North America and Europe.
  • Design operational frameworks that scale with business growth, including process standardization, regional adaptations, and partner integration.
  • Own the annual logistics budget, forecasting, and cost optimization initiatives.
  • Identify, onboard, and manage a network of global freight forwarders, shipping lines, 3PL/4PL providers, and customs brokers.
  • Lead RFPs and contract negotiations to secure reliable, high-quality, and cost effective partners.
  • Create vendor scorecards and hold partners accountable to performance and compliance standards.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and tracking of all international shipments from Asia, including port management, container booking, and inland delivery.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sourcing, sales, warehousing, and customer service teams to ensure smooth hand-offs and real-time issue resolution.
  • Proactively identify risks, delays, and inefficiencies; lead the charge on continuous improvement.
  • Stay up to date with regulatory changes and proactively mitigate risks related to duties, tariffs, and border controls.
  • Select and implement logistics technologies (TMS, ERP integrations, visibility platforms) that support automation, real-time tracking, and analytics.
  • Create performance dashboards and executive reports focused on delivery KPIs, cost metrics, service levels, and growth-readiness.

What You Will Bring

  • 8+ years of experience in international logistics, supply chain, or global operations, including team-building from scratch.
  • Demonstrated success in managing logistics flows from Asia into North America and/or Europe.
  • In-depth knowledge of international shipping, customs regulations, Incoterms, and trade compliance.
  • Experience working with global partners, negotiating contracts, and building logistics infrastructure.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluent in logistics tools and platforms (e.g., TMS, ERP systems, Excel, data visualization).

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Business, or related field.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., APICS, CSCMP, IATA, FIATA).
  • Language proficiency in Mandarin or another Asian language is a plus.
