As Julien’s Auctions expands its footprint in the luxury and fashion market, we are seeking a Fashion / Luxury Specialist to join our dynamic team and help shape this growing category. This role will be instrumental in sourcing, authenticating, cataloging, and curating exceptional fashion and luxury items — from vintage couture and designer handbags to celebrity-worn garments and iconic accessories. The ideal candidate brings deep industry knowledge, a passion for both historical and contemporary fashion, and a sharp eye for quality, provenance, and cultural relevance. This position will play a key role in developing and executing high-profile sales, collaborating closely with our consignors, clients, and marketing teams to deliver world-class auction experiences.



JULIEN'S Brand Specialist Fashion/ Luxury:

  • This candidate will spend a significant portion of their time researching items, verifying their authenticity, and writing detailed descriptions for the auction catalog. This includes assessing the condition, materials, dimensions, and other relevant details.
  • You will capture high-quality images of the items for online and print catalogs, ensuring accurate representation of the lots.
  • You will catalog work with auction software and other systems to enter and edit catalog text, ensuring accuracy and timely completion of the catalog.
  • You will collaborate with specialists, consignors, and other departments within the auction house (e.g., marketing, customer service) to ensure accurate and effective cataloging.
  • You will help catalog and be involved in writing condition reports for items, highlighting any damage, repairs, or other issues that may affect the item's value.
  • You may interact with potential buyers, answering questions about items and providing additional information as needed.
  • You will catalog and assist with the logistics of the auction, including item pickup, load-out, and exhibition setup.
  • You will be asked to review and proofread catalog entries to ensure accuracy and consistency.



REQUIERMENTS:

  • Experience in auction house, ecommerce or second-hand luxury shop
  • Knowledge of retail and resale markets for luxury handbags and accessories
  • Experience as an authenticator and valuer of luxury goods is a plus
  • Interest in luxury brands and ecommerce businesses

  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Suite, tech savvy
  • Ability to assemble, dress and move mannequins (approximately 15-20 lbs)
  • Be able to stand and/or walk during shifts and occasionally lift and move up to 50lbs


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Individuals must be able to work in a high-volume catalog environment with extremely fast turnaround times.
  • Must be available to work some overtime and/or weekends with the ability to maintain an established work schedule.

SCHEDULE :

  • Schedule: Full-time 40 hours/week position with the ability to work extended hours during peak auction season
  • This is an in-person position
