Job Overview
Reporting to the General Manager, as the Construction Manager you will provide on-site coordination for all phases of new home construction projects. You will oversee the daily functions of the Construction Department including coordinating subcontractors, materials and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being strictly followed, and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
You primarily work on construction sites during regular business hours with frequent travel to the Austin office required on a week-to-week basis. Overtime may occasionally be required.

Job Overview
Reporting to the General Manager, as the Construction Manager you will provide on-site coordination for all phases of new home construction projects. You will oversee the daily functions of the Construction Department including coordinating subcontractors, materials and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being strictly followed, and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining project schedules and tracking build times, budgets and staffing levels. Maintaining daily log of activities on the job site. Preparing regular progress reports.
- Supervising, developing and providing guidance to team members and subcontractors. Leading weekly meetings to organize and assign work, to ensure projects are completed in timely manner and with high quality workmanship.
- Building and fostering positive relationship with suppliers and other related parties as well as with various internal departments (purchasing, estimating, sales, marketing).
- Conducting regular site inspections or assessments to identify and resolve deficiencies and potential issues. Coordinating required inspections with local jurisdictions.
- Gathering project material submittals and maintaining records of approvals at the job site. Coordinating homeowner unit specifications with marketing staff.
- Opening the job site at the beginning of the day and closing the job site at the end of the day.
- Promoting and enforcing a safe work environment, ensuring work is completed in a safe manner and adhering to Qualico’s Safety Program and relevant health and safety legislation.

- High school diploma, or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the residential homebuilding construction industry.
- Knowledge of general construction practices and terms, able to read home blueprints.
- Valid Texas driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Satisfactory verification of background check.
- Comfortable using office equipment, Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel) and remote access systems.
- Degree in Construction Science or equivalent is preferred.
- Previous related supervisory experience is preferred.
- Previous experience using NewStar Sales is a strong asset.
