Job Overview

DeMartino Construction Company, Inc., a mid-sized and steadily growing commercial construction firm, is hiring a licensed Commercial Superintendent to oversee our NYC-based projects. This is a key field leadership role responsible for ensuring that our projects are completed on time, within budget, and at the highest quality standards.

You will be the face of the company on-site - managing subcontractors, ensuring safety and compliance, coordinating inspections, and maintaining strong communication with both clients and project managers. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide full-time, on-site supervision for NYC-based commercial construction projects.
  • Open and close job sites during all active work periods.
  • Represent the company professionally in all client interactions.
  • Oversee subcontractors and trades, ensuring work is completed to spec, on schedule, and safely.
  • Conduct daily safety and quality audits on site.
  • Maintain strong communication with the project management team and stakeholders.
  • Track costs, manage change orders, and maintain control of the project scope.
  • Identify and resolve construction or code issues proactively.
  • Submit daily field reports, attendance logs, and weekly progress updates with site photos.
  • Coordinate and manage all inspections and official sign-offs.

Qualifications

  • Current NYC Superintendent License is required.
  • Minimum 3 years of commercial construction experience, including new builds and site development.
  • High School diploma required; some college preferred.
  • OSHA certification, First Aid/CPR required.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and construction documents.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Apple products); Procore experience is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and personal vehicle required.
  • Bilingual a plus.

Schedule

  • Full-time, Monday through Friday. Occasional evenings, weekends, or overnights may be required depending on project demands.
