Job Purpose

Direct the production and plant operations of multiple facilities to meet short- and long-term manufacturing objectives with optimum efficiency. Conduct overall supervision, accountability, and direction of plant teams.

Essential Functions

  • Implement, lead, and manage effective controls that ensure employee and consumer safety, eliminate the variability affecting desired product quality, guarantee assets are maintained at base condition, and sustain 100% customer focus
  • Maintain organizational structure of manufacturing facilities
  • Assist with the development and delivery of the strategic vision for the manufacturing function
  • Assist with the development of manufacturing key performance indicators and goals
  • Determine long- and short-range requirements of personnel, material, and facilities to accomplish production forecasts
  • Direct and review operating results, evaluate progress at facilities, and control expenses related to human capital, budgets, and inventory capital
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities to control or reduce costs within plants
  • Assist with the development of annual manufacturing expense budget in accordance with forecasted sales volumes and capital projects; ensure plants adhere to set budgets
  • Collaborate with cross-functional business leaders on growth and operational initiatives, ultimately leading teams empowered to execute improvement strategies while identifying tools to improve process capabilities, reduce variability, and eliminate defects
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in supply chain, sales/marketing, and new product development to ensure that product offerings exceed customer expectations
  • Utilize continuous improvement tools to deliver capital projects that meet budgetary and performance commitments
  • Analyze production reports including: production results, downtime, yields, and labor/overtime to develop improvement plans; ensure effective plans and processes to support those plans are in place and appropriate actions taken to continuously improve performance
  • Develop a capital plan and appropriate justification for facilities to improve safety, quality, costs, productivity, and delivery as well as support company growth initiatives
  • Implement effective systems and processes to align resources that deliver against business requirements in the areas of cost, financial controls, quality, safety, and business initiatives
  • Foster a sense of teamwork; harness resultant energy, enthusiasm, and excitement of others to achieve organizational goals; display enthusiastic drive to encourage better business performance
  • Maintain an employee and consumer safety-first culture and support all guidelines of GMPs, HARPC, FDA, the Environmental Control Act, and OSHA standards to ensure safe and sanitary plant operations that exceed state and federal requirements
  • Support food safety program, quality standards, and legality of manufactured products
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications (Education, Experience, Competencies)

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, or food science preferred, or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years of food manufacturing experience
  • 5+ years of management/supervisory experience
  • Proficient knowledge of regulatory disciplines (EPA, OSHA, FDA, USDA)
  • Strong employee and consumer safety leadership experience
  • Multi-site leadership experience preferred
  • Experience with LEAN Six Sigma preferred
  • Proven fiscal responsibility (financial planning, budgeting, financial analysis, variance reporting, etc.)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP system(s)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work through cross-functional challenges while problem solving
  • Ability to mobilize change within a business unit and across an organization
  • Ability to set priorities for multiple demands in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated cultural integration leader and change agent with proven ability to drive results
  • Demonstrated ability to create/manage systems and processes necessary to achieve zero accidents, zero defects, and zero unplanned downtime

Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $125,000 to $175,000 annually. Pay is based upon several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. Rise Baking Company complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
