Description

Summary

Responsible for assisting at least one or more processors and one or more loan officers in the daily functions of ensuring loan files are moving forward as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Receives loan application files from Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) and ensures proper paperwork is requested and received from the consumer.
  • Reviews loan applications and files for complete information.
  • Compiles list of missing documents and updates lists provided by MLO.
  • Emails missing item lists to borrowers and maintains lists in files for processor reference.
  • Uploads required documents and requests “set up” on files.
  • Reviews new online applications and requests missing details when necessary.
  • Follows up on and retrieves signed initial disclosures and re-disclosures from clients.
  • Compares tax transcripts to tax returns, confirms flood was quoted if in a flood zone, confirms VOE (if applicable) is fully complete, and verifies employment.
  • Notifies MLO of anything that does not match, so the MLO can communicate with the applicant.
  • Orders title work and insurance per internal requirements.
  • Contacts insurance agent and provides them with all necessary insurance requirements.
  • Tracks receipt of insurance through reminders in outlook.
  • Uploads contracts (if purchase or construction loans).
  • Maintains a follow-through system in outlook to follow up on missing items requested from borrowers and communicates with MLO when needed, depending on days lapsed with no response from borrower.
  • Creates any additional outlook reminders and continues to monitor missing items through reminders.
  • Notates files throughout the entire process.
  • Ensures closing requirements are set to be met when notified of clear to close.
  • Takes lead on follow up documentation needed on closed loans as requested by Shipping Department.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

Skills/Experience/Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years mortgage experience.
  • Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and problem solve.
  • Excellent customer service, written and oral communication, and follow-through skills.
  • Outstanding attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of banking products, delivery channels, various computer software (i.e. MS Office).

Essential Mental & Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel if required to perform the essential job functions.
  • Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to read and interpret a document if required to perform the essential job functions.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer may be required.
  • Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 15 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions. If the employee is unable to lift/move/carry this weight and can be accommodated without causing the department/division any “undue hardship” then the employee must be accommodated; hence omitting lifting/moving/carrying as a physical requirement.
