What You Will Contribute
GELITA USA is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Automations Engineer. This position will primarily work with operations to find solutions to automation and process problems. The role also works on capital projects and process improvement projects for GELITA USA. In addition to typical engineering functions, the job requires the ability to work well with all levels of personnel. This position will report to the Manager Automations.

GELITA USA is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Automations Engineer. This position will primarily work with operations to find solutions to automation and process problems. The role also works on capital projects and process improvement projects for GELITA USA. In addition to typical engineering functions, the job requires the ability to work well with all levels of personnel. This position will report to the Manager Automations.
What We Will Achieve Together
- Provide assistance to operations personnel seeking solutions to automation & process problems
- Automation system reliability (PLC, HMI, Thick & Thin Clients, Networks, UPS, Data Historian)
- Develop and execute complex process control system integration projects of small to medium size and significant complexity simultaneously
- Perform project deliverables independently while adhering to scope, schedule, and budget constraints
- Program, configure, test, and commission PLC and HMI based control systems
- Coordinate and participate in factory and site acceptance testing procedures
- Participate in Root Cause Analysis exercises and execute on associated action items
- Perform annual software upgrades as required
- Utilize GELITA's Integrated Service Agreement with Rockwell to solve problems
- Automation database management
- Manages assigned engineering projects
- Participate in the rotating on-call system to provide 24/7/365 coverage for the sites
- Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) and provides knowledge and counsel to others
- Travel as needed to support shutdown windows and large-scale projects (up to 10%)
- The preferred candidate will have two (2) plus years of automations, electrical and instrumentation work experience, with some of that time in a food & beverage or pharmaceutical environment
- Bachelor's or associate degree in engineering (preferably chemical or electrical engineering) or related field
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
- The ability to maintain constructive relationships is essential.
