What We Are Looking For:
- We are excited to add an experienced Quality Engineer to the Longview, Texas team! The Quality Engineer will be responsible to improve product quality, develop preventative controls, lead the development and implementation of Quality processes, and also improve the efficiency within the facility.
What You Will Do:
- Lead cross-functional problem-solving including Engineering and Manufacturing by using disciplined methods such as A3’s and 8D’s
- Coach and mentor production personnel in the usage of problem-solving and core quality tools
- Serve as core member of product development teams to design in quality controls, error-proofing, and reliance on data-based decision-making.
- Develop and define process control requirements and measurement systems; create and improve control plans
- Work closely with Operations personnel, auditing processes and ensuring compliance to defined methods and standards; monitor and track process performance
- Perform occasional inspection of material and parts
What You Will Need:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field preferred
- 5 years minimum of experience in a quality assurance role, with a proven track record of implementing and managing quality systems.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing factory environment
- Experience with structured problem-solving methodologies, such as 8D or A3, is required
- Experience with quality planning tools such as PFMEA’s is required
- Working knowledge of Metrology is required
- Demonstrated statistical analysis skills, such as Six Sigma Black Belt certification, is preferred
- Experience with quality systems such as ISO9001 is preferred
- Hands-on collaborative approach with plant floor operations team with patience to train and coach a team
- Results oriented with a strong sense of personal responsibility
- Experience working in a Lean environment is a plus, with demonstrated Continuous Improvement skills
- Working knowledge of GD&T
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment with a wide range of functions
- Overnight travel may be required.
