Summary

The Refrigeration Technician overhauls, operates, installs and repairs boilers and refrigeration equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintains boiler and refrigeration equipment and systems in a manner that optimized the processing of vegetables
• Starts systems, observes operation, reads gages and instruments, adjust mechanisms such as valves, controls and pumps to control levels of fluid, pressure and temperature in systems.
• Communicates with Lead and Supervisors and is able to read and understand operating instructions, logs and technical manuals
• Checks repairs and overhauls boiler, refrigeration, water, HVAC with limited direct supervision
• Ensures that refrigeration personnel is working safely and the safe operation of equipment
• Performs other duties as assigned
  
  
  

Typical Education

Two year certificate from a college or technical school

Relevant Experience

• Preferred two years plus experience working with boilers and industrial refrigeration equipment
• Mechanical aptitude
• Good knowledge of computer systems including Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to balance multiple tasks, be flexible and work well under pressure
• Ability to work in both refrigerated and frozen environments
• Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision and exercise good judgment
  
  
  

Required Certifications

• CARO certification is preferred
