Responsibilities

The Cardiology Department at Mayo Clinic Health Systems – Eau Claire is a growing and progressive practice. The practice currently consists of thirteen general cardiologists, three interventional cardiologists (with one additional joining soon), three electrophysiologists, one electrophysiology physician assistant and eleven general cardiology nurse practitioner/physician assistants.

The role of the electrophysiology nurse practitioner/physician assistant would include providing comprehensive direct and indirect patient care in the outpatient setting including consultations, periprocedural evaluation and follow-up, and routine office visits. Inpatient care would also include assisting with inpatient consultations and procedural discharges.

The position requires the ability to communicate with physicians regarding changes in patient's clinical condition; results of diagnostic studies; and patient symptomatology as appropriate. In response to changes in patient condition, accurately and effectively modifies therapeutic interventions. Our team-based care model requires strong communication skills and willingness to collaborate and work together as part of a team.

Qualifications

Nurse Practitioner: Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current WI RN and APRN license and certification as an FNP, ANP, or ACNP.

Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the WI State Board of Medical Practice.

Prescriptive Authority in the State of Wisconsin (WI Board of Medical Examiners and DEA). Current BLS and ACLS certification. Eligible for hospital and clinic privileges.
