POSITION PURPOSE: Administers school student personnel program in high school. Counsels and disciplines students, performing any combination of the following tasks.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
- Formulates student personnel policies.
- Plans and supervises school and student activity programs.
- Talks with and disciplines students in case of attendance and behavior problems.
- Supervises students in attendance at assemblies and athletic events.
- Coordinate student activities to include: clubs, assemblies, homecomings, etc.
- Observe and evaluate teacher performance.
- Works closely with the principal in supporting and encouraging participation in the staff development programs offered by Concord Community Schools.
- Acts as principal when principal is absent.
- Works with administrators to coordinate and supervise student teachers.
- Establishes accurate and appropriate master calendar within deadlines established by the central office and maintains an accurate printed weekly calendar for teachers and students.
- Communicates with custodial services concerning usage of building for activities.
- Coordinates student fund-raising activities.
- Supervises summer school activities.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications
- Appropriate certification as required by the Indiana Department of Education.
- Ability to plan and organize.
- Skills in human relations.
- Ability to communicate effectively before groups of students and parents.
- Other qualifications as deemed desirable by the School Board.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to ten (10) pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- The employee should be able to use the following machines, tools, equipment, and work: pen, pencil, pointer, stylus, projector, public address system, tape recorder, blackboard, chalk, charts, diagrams, examinations, manuals, maps, publications, reference books, textbooks, and computers.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- There are no environmental hazards indicated for this position.
