CRi is hiring a Trainer to join our team! The Trainer is responsible for creating, developing, and facilitating various required and identified training sessions for CRi staff. Monitors effectiveness of training and contributes to the development or revision of training materials and curriculum for continued improvement. Maintains subject-matter expertise in areas of instruction.

Typical Schedule: Monday-Friday hours vary (40hrs/wk)

Location: Richmond, VA (Hybrid)

Compensation: $61,00

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

  • Delivers training sessions for employees and others on topics including, but not limited to: Therapeutic Options of Virginia (TOVA), ID Orientation/Med Waiver, CPR, First Aid, and Human Rights.
  • Assesses participants’ abilities to apply material and take remedial action when necessary.
  • Completes training-related tasks such as setting up training space, preparing materials, grading tests, etc. for classes facilitated.
  • Works on training development and/or course revision projects as needed.

Other Job Functions

  • Assists in the promotion of continuous quality assurance and professional development throughout agency.
  • Maintains certifications and seeks continuing education related to job duties and agency mission.
  • Assists in disseminating and administering CR’s training policies and procedures.
  • Provides ad hoc trainings as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years stand up training experience.
  • Experience in training development and facilitation of training with adult learners required.
  • Excellent public presentation, demonstration, and speaking skills.
  • Strong computer skills, in particular MS Office (PowerPoint-Required).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience providing services to individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or mental health diagnoses preferred.
  • Current certification to teach TOVA, CPR and First Aid preferred.

Physical Demands

  • Extended periods of standing.
  • Ability to model correct technique for subjects taught, including physical interventions and CPR.
  • Must be able to move tables, chairs and other bulky equipment to facilitate training set up.

Work Environment

  • Training room at corporate headquarters, and various locations throughout CR’s service areas.
  • Group homes, intermediate care facilities, and mental health programs. Within training setting, may provide services to adults with intellectual and physical disabilities and mental health diagnoses.
  • Office environment; may be subject to confined work areas.
  • Ability to work days, evenings and/or weekends as needed for training sessions.
