Ardent is seeking a Geospatial Professional to join our team.

This is a remote position.

Position Description:

We are seeking a skilled GIS professional with a strong background in geospatial data to support a variety of projects involving the collection, management, analysis, and visualization of spatial information. The ideal candidate will have experience working with geospatial datasets, tools, and systems to support decision-making, reporting, and technical analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect, clean, and manage geospatial datasets from various sources (e.g., satellite imagery, sensor data, field observations, public datasets).
• Perform spatial analysis using GIS tools to support project goals and deliver actionable insights.
• Maintain metadata, ensure data quality, and support data governance best practices.
• Produce maps, dashboards, and reports that effectively communicate spatial findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Work with teams to support data workflows, documentation, and data publishing pipelines.
• Assist in maintaining and improving geodatabases, including vector and raster datasets.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to meet data delivery and project milestones.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, Data Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proficiency with ESRI tools (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, Enterprise), QGIS, or similar platforms.
• Experience working with geospatial file formats (e.g., shapefiles, GeoJSON, KML) and spatial databases.
• Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, SQL) is a plus.
• Understanding of coordinate systems, projections, and spatial data standards.
• Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with federal, state, or local government geospatial projects.
• Knowledge of cloud-based GIS environments and data publishing (e.g., ArcGIS Hub, AWS, or similar).
• Familiarity with data cataloging, FAIR principles, or metadata standards (e.g., ISO 19115, FGDC).
