Position Overview:
The Senior Pricing and Procurement Manager is responsible for overseeing the acquisition of goods and services essential to the operations of Inspire Veterinary Partners (IVP) clinics, while also work with the VP of Operations to lead the execution of a scalable, unified pricing strategy. This role blends procurement leadership with pricing governance to ensure IVP maintains margin discipline, inventory accuracy, and pricing integrity across its clinical network.
This role involves strategic planning, supplier management, margin analysis, and collaboration with operations and finance to align procurement and pricing practices with the company's goals.
The Senior Pricing and Procurement Manager maintains strategic supplier relationships, negotiates contracts, and implements systems for monitoring performance, assessing risk, and responding to changes in demand or supply disruptions. This professional also partners cross-functionally to define inventory needs, monitor cost of goods sold, and execute consistent pricing updates.

Procurement Strategy & Oversight
Risk Management: Develop risk management procedures to mitigate losses in the event of product shortages or other disruptions.
Team Collaboration: Work across all clinics and partner with Practice Managers, delegating tasks and ensuring effective collaboration across departments. Coordinate with each clinic to understand their needs and assist with inventory management oversight. Work closely with staff to develop efficient purchasing processes and assist with training team members on procurement policies and procedures.
Training: Serve as a resource to Practice Managers and clinic teams for inventory, pricing, and procurement guidance. Lead or support team education on procurement policies, pricing setup, and COGS awareness.
Compliance: Work closely with operations and finance and legal leadership to ensure all contracts and procurement activities comply with company policies and regulations.

Procurement Strategy & Oversight
- Develop Procurement Strategies: Create and implement procurement strategies that support the company's objectives and operational needs. Oversee the procurement process, including sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods and services for the organization.
- Supplier Management: Maintain and enhance relationships with suppliers, continuously scouting for new vendors to ensure a diverse and reliable supply chain. Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to secure favorable terms and ensure quality standards are met.
- Contract Negotiation: Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with suppliers to secure the best possible prices and agreements.
- Partner with Operations and Finance to implement IVP's scalable pricing strategy across clinics.
- Support the universalization of inventory and service codes and maintain a consistent, compliant formulary structure.
- Maintain oversight of the pricing environment within practice management software systems and enforce change control protocols.
- Train hospital leadership and inventory leads on pricing best practices, margin thinking, and alignment with financial strategy.
- Support Ops in quarterly pricing and margin reviews and recommend pricing adjustments based on cost trends and market shifts.
- Ensure accurate, consistent pricing setup and margin awareness across all clinics.
- Conduct cost and margin analyses to identify savings opportunities and operational efficiencies.
- Align pricing and procurement insights to protect gross margins and manage COGS effectively.

Compensation And Benefits:
- $75,000-85,000 targeted salary range. Compensation is negotiable based on credentials and experience. The actual salary offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Desired Skills & Competencies:
- Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms and conditions with suppliers.
- Proficiency in procurement tools and resources.
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in contracts and purchase orders.
- Project management skills to oversee procurement projects from inception to completion.
- Knowledgeable of and ability to communicate company policies and procedures to those assigned responsibility for cost of goods sold and inventory management and inform management of any issues.
- Understanding of company processes inclusive of finance systems and ability to apply business knowledge and reasoning ability in resolution of tasks and issues.
- Demonstrate a mix of organizational, critical thinking and analytical skills to assess supplier performance and market trends.
- Demonstrate ability to be detail-oriented and able to work independently and as part of a team, and able to multitask.
- Ability to research issues and cope with ambiguity to offer insight and assist with development of process improvements.
- Approachable and available to hospital leadership teams and functional support teams.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, written and verbal, skilled and open communicator to collaborate with internal teams and external partners.

- Passion for pets and their health and well-being.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field. An advanced degree such as an MBA is advantageous.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, with progressive responsibility. Knowledge and experience working within the veterinary medicine / services industry. Public company experience is a plus.
- Certifications: Professional certifications such as Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) are preferred.
