Job Summary

The People and Culture Partner serves as a strategic advisor and trusted partner to leaders and team members across the organization, including direct partnerships with General Managers at our bioprocessing facilities and/or Executive Leaders. A People & Culture Partner understands all areas that typically fall under Human Resources (team member relations, compliance, team member development, compensation, recruitment, etc.) and plays a key role in connecting our people initiatives to business strategies while collaborating with many different teams across the company.

A People & Culture Partner understands all areas that typically fall under Human Resources (team member relations, compliance, team member development, compensation, recruitment, etc.) and plays a key role in connecting our people initiatives to business strategies while collaborating with many different teams across the company.
DURING A TYPICAL DAY
- Promote POET’s company culture and partner with leaders to identify, consult, and support implementing initiatives pertaining to people strategies.
- Develop meaningful relationships with leaders and team members.
- Partner with leaders to identify talent needs within the team, build development plans and implement development strategies.
- Support and influence key decisions through People & Culture analytics, insights, and other data.
- Conduct team member relations investigations in accordance with company policies, employment laws and regulations.
- Assist in managing company policies and provide recommendations for enhancement; ensuring legal compliance and alignment with POET culture. Provide risk assessments to leaders and partner with the POET legal team as needed.
- Stay current on all pertinent federal, state, labor, and case law changes within assigned POET territory to reduce legal risk and ensure compliance.
- Support and lead initiatives that strengthen team member engagement and retention.
- Advise leaders on compensation decisions including the annual compensation review process, market benchmarking and internal equity analysis. Ensure compensation strategies align with POET’s internal compensation philosophy.
- Align with the Talent Acquisition team on recruitment strategies for open positions in your business areas.
- Engage in the onsite and/or virtual interview process for open positions in your business areas to assess culture fit.
- Facilitate and/or participate in team member trainings to include leadership development courses, new leader integration, talent planning, and team building based on the needs of the business you support.
- Professionally represent the People & Culture Team and be known as a competent, reliable, and trusted resource to team members and leaders.
- Lead by example in upholding the highest level of integrity, honesty, ethical behavior and maintain confidentiality in the organization.
- Since we’re all about teamwork and getting the job done, your skill may be put to a lot of other uses!
- Bachelor’s Degree required; preferably in the area of Human Resources Management, Psychology, or Business.
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification preferred.
- 3+ years of progressive Human Resources experience is required with applicable experience in employee relations, compensation, talent development, talent acquisition, etc. Preferably in a 24/7/365 operation and/or a manufacturing or processing environment.
- Highly organized with superb time management skills. Demonstrated ability to manage and complete projects within expected time frame.
- Initiative in researching, gathering, and analyzing data for various projects.
- Ability to independently make decisions and/or recommendations to resolve problems.
- Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability and willingness to learn new software applications.
- This position operates in an office environment working at a personal computer where you may sit or stand.
- Travel, with some overnight stays, is required averaging 10% or less of your time. Scheduling is typically flexible.
