Department of Administration - State of Idaho Opportunity
Are you an experienced leader looking for an opportunity to serve the great state of Idaho? The Department of Administration is looking for an enthusiastic and collaborative minded individual to fill the position of the Administrator of the Idaho Division of Purchasing. This role serves as the Chief Procurement Officer for all state purchasing activities. This position plays a key role in the Department's Executive Staff and is responsible for the administration of the State's central purchasing office and the Federal Surplus Property program for the State of Idaho.
We serve Idaho by promoting responsible government through expert customer support.

Example Of Duties
- Directs the activities of the State's purchasing activities including the establishment of statewide and agency specific contracts covering a wide variety and complexity of commodities;
- Develops and implements statewide purchasing policies, procedures and initiatives;
- Initiates change to Idaho Statue and Administrative Rule;
- Coordinates initiatives with other states to realize the best possible cost savings;
- Works with agencies and attorneys regarding contract award appeals and legal proceedings;
- Develops and maintains effective working relationships with state executives and vendor community;
- Reviews and approves agency purchasing procedures;
- Responsible for administrative oversight of the Idaho Federal Surplus Property program. More information about this program can be found at https://fsp.idaho.gov/
Considerable knowledge of:
- Purchasing practices and procedures;
- Management principles and practices;
- Developing and implementing policy relating to procurement;
- Professional presentation and public speaking.
- Managing a professional staff;
- Developing policies and procedures that have a corporate-wide or statewide impact; Analyzing complex fiscal and administrative problems and recommending solutions; Developing effective working relationships;
- Communicating effectively orally and in writing and making public presentations
