Utah Housing Corporation (UHC), based in West Valley City, Utah, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented professional for the role of Housing Program Manager I within our Multifamily Finance and Development Department. This full-time position provides development support and underwriting services for our small/rural Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) projects and our Housing Development Loan Fund (HDLF) under the direction of our Housing Development Manager.
Our Housing Program Manager I position offers an annual salary between $65,977 to $86,296, based on education and experience. UHC offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes employer contributions to Utah Retirement Systems (URS), PEHP traditional health plans, as well as a high-deductible health plan that includes employer contributions to a Health Savings Account (HSA). Additional benefits include dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts for medical and dependent care, group term life and accident insurance, and options for 401(k), 457, IRA, and Roth IRA plans. We also offer a supportive coaching work environment.
As our Housing Program Manager I, you will play a key role in supporting the development of affordable housing through the management of the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) and Housing Development Loan Fund (HDLF) programs. Your responsibilities will include training partners on new project rent-ups by collaborating with program partners to ensure tenant selections comply with program and LIHTC guidelines. You will also assist in working with general contractors to create complete and accurate payment applications that align with the construction contract and the payment application checklist. This will help ensure a thorough submission to the project owner and UHC for payment draws. Additionally, you will assist in preparing all underwriting documents (including proforma and feasibility sheets) and conduct due diligence assessments for lenders, investors, and program participants. This ensures a complete, thorough, and accurate assessment of UHC's risk in every transaction.
This role of Housing Program Manager I requires a bachelor's degree and at least five years of professional experience in real estate, construction, or a related field. Successful candidates will have a strong understanding of real estate concepts, financial statements, and project administration. Proficiency in tools like Microsoft Word and Excel are essential, as are excellent communication and organizational skills. The role also involves regular travel, including overnight trips, and requires the physical ability to navigate construction sites and lift materials up to 50 pounds.
If you are ready to make a meaningful impact in the housing sector and contribute to UHC's mission of creating thriving communities, we encourage you to apply. We look forward to the opportunity to meet you!
