The Business Operations Analyst is a strategic partner in driving operational excellence at Blum Construction. This role is focused on helping the organization understand what operational data is needed, how to efficiently collect it, how to interpret it, and how to present it in a way that drives meaningful action. By working closely with individual departments, project teams, and regional leaders, the analyst helps translate complex data into clear insights that improve decision-making, streamline processes, and enhance overall performance. Key Responsibilities
- Collect, analyze, and interpret business operations data
- Translate data into clear, compelling visualizations that support decision-making
- Support the development of business operational dashboards and KPIs to provide real-time insights to corporate and regional leadership
- Partner with various department leaders to identify and document process improvement opportunities and compliance.
- Collaborate with all departments to align operational data with enterprise systems and reporting needs.
- Assist with rollout and tracking of strategic business operational initiatives.
- Create reporting templates, workflows, and tools that streamline decision-making across various departments. .
- Communicate findings and recommendations in plain language to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Build repeatable processes and frameworks for ongoing data collection, review, and reporting.
- Serve as a thought partner in helping the organization become more data-informed in its daily decisions and long-term strategy.
- Support the EVP of Operations in preparing presentations, updates, and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Analytics, or related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in construction operations or similar field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to distill complex data into clear insights.
- Proficient in Excel; experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar visualization tools is a plus.
- Familiarity with construction workflows, terminology, and systems
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to collaborate effectively across roles and levels.
- Self-starter with a growth mindset and an interest in learning the business from the ground up.
- Clear, timely data supporting field and leadership decision-making
- Documented process improvements that reduce waste or increase efficiency
- High engagement with field leaders to understand day-to-day operations
- Proactive identification of performance trends and improvement opportunities
- Demonstrated ownership of analytics and reporting tasks
