This position is responsible for using CAD equipment to support the Engineering Manager by preparing routine layouts, detail drawings, assembly drawings, sketches and diagrams. Details to include all views and dimensions necessary for manufacture. Makes copies of drawings and maintains information regarding changes to the database. Makes simple decisions but refers most questions/problems to the Engineering Manager.

Job Responsibilities:
- Uses computer-assisted design/drafting (AutoCAD) equipment and software to develop designs.
- Create and revise production drawings (detail and assembly drawings).
- Makes final sketch of proposed drawing, checking dimensions of parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts to the whole structure or project.
- Sketches a rough layout of the machine and computes angles, weights, surface areas, dimensions, radii, clearances, tolerances, leverages, and location of holes.
- Utilizes knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings.
- Drafts detailed multi-view drawings of the machine and products.
- Draws finished designs from sketches.
- Responsible for setting up and maintaining an organized file system for Production Drawings.
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
- Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports, operating instructions, and correspondence.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- High skill level in AutoCAD software. Skilled in PC usage and associated software, including Google Workspace.
