As Payroll Analyst, you’re not just processing numbers, you’re enabling financial accuracy and compliance that allows GSI to scale, deliver, and reward performance.

This role is built for someone with strong analytical horsepower, obsessive attention to detail, and a growth mindset. You’ll help lead the way in transforming how we manage payroll across multiple states, unions, retirement plans, and project types.

Responsibilities

Own End-to-End Payroll Execution:

  • Execute and audit weekly multi-state payroll runs with accuracy, speed, and compliance
  • Manage employee timecard review and exception tracking, including union and prevailing wage compliance
  • Generate certified payroll reports across all funded projects in collaboration with project management
  • Maintain job wage setups and cross-check against state/county/local and federal guidelines
  • Partner cross-functionally with Finance, HR, and Project Management to ensure seamless payroll workflows

Strengthen Payroll Governance

  • Ensure compliance with all payroll tax regulations and wage and hour laws
  • Coordinate 401(k), Roth, and other employee benefit deductions with Finance and HR
  • Assist with year-end processes including W-2 distribution across multiple jurisdictions
  • Maintain clean, auditable records of timesheets, approvals, and wage assignments

Qualifications

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, HR Management or related field
  • 1+ years of payroll execution and analysis experience across multiple states
  • Strong understanding of payroll tax and labor compliance requirements (state, local and federal)
  • Proven ability to research and apply prevailing wage determinations
  • Strong Excel proficiency and experience working in ERP/payroll platforms (Viewpoint experience a plus)
  • Analytical mindset with high attention to detail and deadline-driven execution
  • Demonstrated discretion and integrity with sensitive employee and compensation data
  • Familiarity with garnishments, benefits deductions, and payroll reporting

Nice To Have

  • Experience in union payroll and certified payroll processes
  • Proven ability to research and apply prevailing wage determinations
  • Payroll certifications (preferred), such as:
    • FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification)
    • CPP (Certified Payroll Professional)
  • Construction Payroll
  • Year End processing experience

This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule. Employees will be expected to work in the Westminster, CO office 3 days per week on Tuesday, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

The expected base pay range for this position in the Denver, Coloeado area is $55,000 - $67,000. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential bonus or benefits.
