Position Overview:
The Starter / Marshall is responsible for ensuring an exceptional golf experience by managing the flow of play on the golf course. This role focuses on maintaining pace of play, providing excellent guest service, and upholding course policies in a professional and courteous manner.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet golfers warmly and provide helpful information about course conditions, rules, and pace of play expectations.
Monitor the first tee to ensure groups start on time and in proper order.
Circulate the course to monitor pace of play, assist golfers as needed, and enforce course policies.
Communicate effectively with the Golf Shop and other team members to ensure smooth operations.
Provide basic assistance to golfers on the course (locating golf balls, offering directions, etc.).
Assist with maintaining cleanliness and appearance of staging areas, starter shack, and course signage.
Qualifications:
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Knowledge of golf etiquette and pace of play standards preferred.
Ability to remain calm and professional when addressing guests.
Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to drive a golf cart.
