About The Role
Where You'll Work
Our Fort Worth, Texas location is part of our Dairy division and creates soups and sauce variations for Kerry customers and brands. We are a fast paced, never a dull moment manufacturing facility that comes together as a team to get the job done. If you like working with a close-knit group that makes a big impact, we may be the place for you! Our Fort Worth site is located at 7401 Will Rogers Blvd. Fort Worth, TX 76140
The shift is: 2:00 PM - 11:30 PM or 3:00PM - 12:30 AM. Monday to Friday, some Saturday's.
The typical hiring range for this role is $19.93 per hour up to $32.31 per hour and is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications. This position may also be eligible for a shift differential and/or overtime. Key Responsibilities
As a Quality Assurance Technician for RTE foods, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all products meet established safety, quality, and regulatory specifications. You will be responsible for monitoring processes, conducting tests, maintaining documentation, and actively contributing to our continuous improvement initiatives. This position requires a strong understanding of food safety principles and a commitment to maintaining a safe and sanitary production environment.
Key Responsibilities
o Monitor Critical Control Points (CCPs) and prerequisite programs (e.g., SSOPs, GMPs, metal detection, cooking and chilling procedures) as outlined in HACCP plans.
o Perform pre-operational and operational sanitation checks.
o Conduct micro swabs, allergen swabs, thermometer calibrations, and other analytical tests as required.
o Perform additional analytical testing as needed for R&D, Sales, Customer requests, KPI’s, Shelf life studies.
Documentation And Record Keeping
o Accurately complete detailed documentation and maintain precise records of production data, test results, and traceability information.
o Review and reconcile all QA/QC records, including labels and printed box verifications.
o Prepare and distribute HOLD reports for non-conforming products.
o Conduct regular GMP inspections, Glass and Brittle plastic inspection, and other food safety and quality audits.
o Actively participate in internal and external audits, including USDA inspections.
o Identify, investigate, and communicate out-of-compliance situations and product standards to leadership.
o Assist in identifying root causes of quality or food safety issues.
o Assist in implementing corrective and preventative actions to prevent reoccurrence.
o Assist in investigating customer complaints and nonconformance incidents.
o Place tags to hold or reject product, materials, or equipment not meeting specifications.
Equipment Management
o Operate laboratory instruments and testing devices (e.g, moisture analyzers, pH meters).
o Perform regular calibration and maintenance of equipment to ensure accurate results.
o Collaborate with production, sanitation, and maintenance teams to ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.
o Collaborate with the warehouse team pull samples/retains and discard when applicable
Qualifications and skills
o High School Diploma or GED required.
o 1-3 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment, preferably with Ready-to-Eat (RTE) products.
o Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, SSOPs, and other food safety programs. HACCP certification preferred.
o Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
o Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
o Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
o Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
o Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds and stand, bend, lift, and move intermittently during shifts of 8+ hours.
o Comfortable working in varying temperature environments (e.g., hot kitchen, cold warehouse).
o Ability to effectively communicate in English (both oral and written). Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.
