Position Description

The Accounting Specialist is responsible for computing, classifying and the recording of numerical data to keep vendor records complete. Perform any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounts payable records.

Major Areas of Responsibility

  • Responsible for all vendor and loan payments in a timely manner. Reporting weekly to upper management
  • Set up new vendors
  • Process checks and ACH payments
  • Process all manual checks for electronic withdrawals
  • Process all W-9 forms for vendors
  • Performs accounts payables including Subcontractors
  • Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, e-mail, or in person
  • Verify accuracy transactional data
  • All other tasks deemed necessary or required by management
  • Process and pay all invoices for Benefits for all companies

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience is required
  • Strong computer skills including intermediate/advanced experience in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated initiative to proactively seek out work, complete tasks, and follow-up on outstanding items
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically and prioritize tasks appropriately

Work Requirements

  • Dependable and consistent attendance/punctuality
  • Ability to work independently yet demonstrate teamwork
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 30lbs
  • Ability to meet all functional requirements including, but not limited to sitting, kneeling, standing, walking, bending, squatting, finger dexterity, and reaching above/below shoulders
