For Garden’s Sake is a family-owned garden center and landscaping company, in operation since 1999. We are continually growing, and offer customers a one-stop shop for plants, landscape design/installation, and lawn maintenance services.

The Postion

We are seeking a dedicated Groundskeeper to join our team and keep our site beautiful, pristine, and inviting. Our property encompasses a retail garden center, office house, children’s play area, parking area, and historic chapel. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working outdoors and making landscapes look pristine, a keen eye for detail, and a self-starter attitude.

This is a part-time year-round position, working two days per week. Pay is $18/hour with weekly pay. We offer a matching 401k retirement savings and discounts at the Garden Center. Advancement opportunities available as we continue to grow.

Responsibilities

• Work SOLO to maintain grounds, with oversight from Lawn Maintenance Division Director
• Mow, trim, and edge turf to maintain an overall neat and tidy appearance
• Prune shrubs and maintaining plant health
• Weed and care for plants in beds
• Blow off walkways and patios
• Pick up trash and debris all over grounds, especially in parking lots
• Occasionally apply herbicides/pesticides
• Miscellaneous small landscape-related maintenance tasks and projects as needed
  
  

Requirements

• Previous experience in grounds maintenance or landscaping
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to safely lift up to 50lbs and operate equipment and machinery
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality work
• Ability to work independently and efficiently - content with working alone
• Proactive and positive attitude
