Job Summary

The Director of Spirits Supply Planning is a key leader, tasked with both strategic and tactical roles in the Supply Chain Operations department. The Director will manage packaging vendor relationships, support New Product Development in the spirits category, procure packaging materials, and procure finished goods from FFWS’s agency partners.

The Director will work with stakeholders in Operations, Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Project Management to establish and improve processes around purchasing, planning, reporting, and tracking all pertinent business activities.

Hybrid schedule: Onsite days, Tuesday - Thursday | Remote optional, M & F

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Support New Product Development process by providing subject matter expertise and realistic assessments of viability related to spirits packaging
  • Know and have experience with key suppliers of spirits packaging materials domestic and abroad
  • Understand capabilities of suppliers and FFWS production team to ensure NPD concepts can be brought to life


Manage Vendor Relationships

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with the company’s vendors and partners to ensure systems, equipment, technology, and services are operating at the highest standards possible
  • Negotiate contracts that achieve the right balance between secure supply, appropriate quality, and low costs
  • Design and implement supplier scorecard process


Procurement and Inventory Management – Materials and Finished Goods

  • Perform required planning and analysis to maintain appropriate stock levels of materials and finished goods in area of responsibility
  • Ensure purchase orders are submitted and entered into Business Central in a timely manner
  • Ensure purchase orders are closed after delivery of supplies
  • Systematically audit open POs to ensure timely receipt and delivery and address any outstanding POs beyond a reasonable timeframe
  • Collaborate with the Compliance team to remain abreast of new and existing Cola requests/requirements
  • Ensure best practices are understood and maintained

  • Self-starter with ability to work with little direction.

Education & Experience

  • BA required
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in the spirits industry, at least 3 years in management roles
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, “manage up” to the executive team and inspire team members to live up to their potential
  • Extensive prior experience in supply planning and/or procurement
  • Demonstrated track record working effectively across all functions and organizations including at different physical work locations and in different countries
